I remember a few weeks ago...I swore to my last companion I would NOT start a blog. Am I the only one that feels like every missionary has one now? Not only that but lets be real-my mom and brother wrote all my English papers (not to mention my farewell talk). So why in the world is Sister Duncan starting a blog??? Well let me tell you a quick story!
We were tracting this past week and I got in a conversation about basketball with this girl. She somehow found out that I played for two years in college...and then in mid-sentence she just stopped. Next is the awkward question that Sister Duncan always tries to avoid out here. "Well you're going to play when you get back right?" I'm pretty sure I answer this question differently every time I'm asked. My companion probably thinks I'm mentally crazy. So I rambled something off that probably just confused her and then she said something that stuck out to me.
"Girl you gotta use your talents! You were given them for a reason!"
Since playing basketball isn't something that's too realistic out here on a mission, I've decided to start a blog. NO-my talents aren't in the journalism profession. BUT I like to talk about sports! So most of my posts will probably tie into sports somehow. Seriously though, you can learn so much about life from sports!
One thing I have really come to know is that God has given us each unique talents that He wants us to develop, practice and use to bless other's lives. Since I love sports and can't really play them while on a mission...why not talk about them! I am excited I get to write down some thoughts I have been having on a topic I am so passionate about. Stay tuned for more!
